PrimeCoat® Z90x products are high performing chemicals from Coil Coating Technologies B.V. PrimeCoat® products have been developed based on an in-depth knowledge of customers’ production processes and meet or exceed all critical demands.
PrimeCoat® Z90x products are water-based functional chemical passivations purposely developed to improve corrosion resistance of galvanised steel and other Zinc based alloys.
Additional properties of the PrimeCoat® Z90x are:
- reduction of the friction of the metal surface in forming operations
- Improved bonding and adhesion properties
PrimeCoat® Z90x products are Phospate based and do not contain hexavalent Chromium Cr(VI) or any other form of the element chromium. This product line is also free of SVHC substances. PrimeCoat can replace traditional chromium based TOCs and passivations withoug giving in on quality. A PrimeCoat treatment ensures excellent appearance, even at higher layer weights.
Typical galvanized steel surfaces that will benefit from PrimeCoat Z90x-series are:
Zinc coated steel (Z), Zinc Magnesium (ZM), Galvalume (GA), Aluzinc (AZ) and Electro galvanized (EG). Metal coated with PrimeCoat® Z90x products is combining excellent tribological, post-painting
and adhesive bonding properties.

Modular system Z90x series
A unique aspect of PrimeCoat® Z90x products is that the product technology is modular which enables solutions tailored to specific customer processes. By changing the product concentration or adding specialty additives product certain properties can be enhanced while maintaining perfect overall quality. At a higher application concentration the product obtains more TOC based characteristics, such as improved:
- Corrosion resistance
- Lubrication
- Mechanical resistance
- Adhesion properties
- Anti-fingerprinting
At a lower application concentration (<50%) it can be used as a very good passivation. Whatever your process or need PrimeCoat® is the preferred product.

Thin Organic Coatings (TOC’s)
Thin Organic Coatings (TOC’s), worden in een doorlopend proces aangebracht op thermisch verzinkt staal en andere metalen ondergronden. Ook brengen deze veel voordelen met zich mee, zoals het tegengaan van vingerafdrukken en het verbeteren, vormen en toevoegen van corrosie protectie.
Passiveren
‘Witroest’; de vijand van verzinkt (band)staal stalen strips is een vorm van corrosie die kan optreden tijdens opslag. Een zeer onwenselijke vorm van corrosie voor kritische toepassingen in witgoed, bouw en andere high-end industrieën.
Voorbehandelen
De duurzaamheid en levensduur van producten zijn eisen die consumenten als vanzelfsprekend beschouwen. Er wordt continu verbetering verwacht op dit gebied. Verf hechting en corrosie weerstand zijn factoren waar rekening mee moet worden gehouden bij de conditie van applicaties tot en met de laatste levensduur van een product.
Reinigers en speciale additieven
Olie, vet en andere vormen van oppervlakte verontreinigingen die ontstaan gedurende productie moeten worden verwijderd. Afhangend van de soort verontreiniging, kan dit worden bereikt door middel van het gebruik van zuur of alkaline gebaseerde reinigers.
Smeermiddelversterkers
Smeermiddelversterkers verminderen de slijtage en werktuigvervuiling bij het produceren van metalen platen.
